Description: Maghrebi.org is a new media start up created by award winning British veteran correspondent Martin Jay. It's a voluntary operation which covers North Africa,, the Sahel and to some extent Sub Saharan Africa. Intern journalists get great experience and mentoring and in many cases go on to get jobs in big media. The work is hard and importantly, the work hours are flexible. But we are looking for people with drive who ideally have already made the decision in life to become a journalist and know that getting a job in big media has never been harder and can only be achieved by being an active journalist already - and so cherish the opportunity to write about geopolitics, human rights, environment, corruption and even football from the region. A sense of humour is essential and being a dog lover also scores you points. In some cases interns have spent a few weeks in Marrakech where the owner is based to get more hands on mentoring, but in most cases internships are usually remote and nearly always part time. If you're thinking of journalism and you're interested in international politics you might be the right fit for the team.
