Description: NDB or Nano Diamond Battery is an innovative energy generator and storage that redefines and revolutionizes the battery as we know it. We want to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy with our innovative energy generation and storage systems and we are looking for exceptional talent to drive our growth. We are currently looking for a passionate, talented, and knowledgeable Materials Scientist with proven experience to join a collaborative and innovative team. As a Materials Scientist, you will work within our team alongside nuclear physicists guided by the Chief Technology Officer to develop our technology. You will be responsible for research, modelling, characterisation, synthesis, and fabrication of the NDB cell. We would like to hear from self-motivated scientists, who embrace responsibility and execute tasks reliably in a timely manner. Strong technical lab skills and an excellent understanding of materials are critical along with a passion to push the boundaries of material chemistry. The right candidate will take pride in the projects they work on and help us maintain our high quality of work. Key responsibilities: – Modeling and simulation. – Material handling and characterization. – Plan and carry out complex research projects, such as the development of new products and testing methods – Good lab practice in terms of safety, diligence and accurate record keeping. – Operation of test rigs to enable assessment of product performance. – Data analysis, processing, and reporting. – Research and keeping up to date with material developments in the sector. – Collaborating with Mechanical and Nuclear Engineers to develop our technology. – Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of NDB products and services. – Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes. – Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming is a plus. – Prepare reports, manuscripts, proposals, and technical manuals for use by other scientists and requestors, such as sponsors, customers, partners and potential partners. – Determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications. – Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data – Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Key skills and experience: – Experience with chemical and molecular modeling. – A proven track record of projects relating to chemical systems ranging from materials to device testing. – Prior experience with storage materials, semiconductors, and electrochemistry is beneficial. – Knowledge of solid-state synthesis and chemical modification. – Adaptability and teamwork; you must be ready to adapt to changes, solve problems and engage in jobs that are outside of your job spec. – Degree qualified, preferably with a bachelor’s qualification in a related field. – Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills. – Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy. – Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality. – English level of at least B2.
